Description:Writing about MMK means writing about the three people that make up the name – Mark, Mel and Kurt. We started working together as architecture graduates from the University of Malta, and never quite stopped. Our complementary perspectives on architecture and design led to the launch of MMK. Here’s a little bit about what makes us tick: We are each driven by a genuine ambition to create more meaningful spaces – to us, designing a better world is not so much a dream as it is the very workable reason we get up in the morning. We are firm believers that quality design and architecture is something that everyone should be able to experience, so we create solutions in architectural excellence that take all expectations and budgets into consideration. We believe that the interior space is as important as the exterior envelope, and that they should be thought out and planned simultaneously. We explore different paths and take non-traditional routes in technical and operational procedure to deliver the results we’re after. Above all, we recognize the importance of detail and good design, but do not believe in architecture as an end in itself. It’s all about the client, the context, the solution and the efficiency of the means taken to reach the project’s goals. It’s about architecture and design that’s so personalised, we’ve put our names on it.
